Each Lesson in this Course builds on what you have learned in previous lessons.

There are many English words to learn. Click or tap on the audio link to hear John pronouncing these. A Mandarin translation is next to the English, sometimes before and sometimes after it.

For phrases and sentences John says each word slowly, and then joins them as they are usually pronounced.

Many thousands of Chinese students and temporary unskilled workers come to Australia each year, with little or no English. They either fail studying at University, or obtain employment where they are exploited. It is John's hope that this series of lessons, in everyday colloquial Australian ("Aussie") English, will help some of them.
