Lesson 107: Work Idioms

To bring home the bacon = to earn a living for your family. 把培根带回家=为您的家庭谋生。

To balance the books = to make certain that the amount of money spent is not more than the amount of money received. 平衡账簿=确定所花费的金额不超过所收到的金额。

A ball-park figure = an estimate of money. 一个粗略的数字=金钱的估计。

A bean-counter = an accountant. 豆柜台=会计师。

Blood on the carpet = trouble during or after a meeting. 地毯上的血=会议期间或之后的麻烦。


The bottom line = the most important financial result of something. 底线=最重要的财务结果。
